This is an amazing artifact. The photos don’t show it but the banded red slate has tiny flakes of mica throughout which causes the piece to glitter in the light. It has a single hole that was drilled from one side making it probably from the Mound Builder Culture. It is very well made, symmetrical and highly polished. It also has awesome patina. There is an ancient nick on the side that appears to have been there from when it was made. The wear in the nick shows it was used long after the nick happened. This is an awesome piece. You will be amased by the glitter, If not you can always return it. I will try to get a better sunlight picture.

This is a very nice piece of Alaskan history. It was purchased as part of a collection in the mid 60’s. It appears to have some glue residue in the crack at the top to support it from cracking further. (See photos)
This piece shows a lot of use wear and it is in great shape.
This is a great example of a sharpened and polished bone tool.
Either used as a polishing stone or a game stone it shows great wear from whatever.

This looks to be a leg of an ancient pot with a human face design. It is part of a collection that was purchased in the 1960’s. It is possibly South American.
Here is an example of an ancient unfinished project. I am sure it was on his ‘honey-do’ list. Finely pecked into shape but only started drilling the hole. It had a lot of potential. If it could only tell the story as to why it didn’t get finished. This is a great study piece.
