This is a Barbed Deer Arrow with socket for attachment to a shaft. It was carved from what I think is bone that is possibly fossilized. It is in great shape for it’s age.

This one shows the hand carving on the sides and has a nice hole drilled on the end for mounting on the shaft. It has an ancient crack in it but it still is very solid. It also has great patina.
This piece has great patina and is a true piece of Native American fishing history.
My father purchased a bag of these at a relic show in Indianapolis in the mid 1960’s. We were told by the seller that they had come from Georgia. They do appear to be old and authentic but i don’t have any proof about the Georgia story.
A most unusual artifact carved into a diamond shape it is truly a one of a kind. It shows nice polish from use and a lot of patina.
