This axe has a lot of patina. It is well made with a flair at the groove and slightly fluted on the bottom. It had a brush with some farm equipment but survived with only minor scratches.

Weighing in at over 6 LBS this is a beauty. But it is not a personal find so I want to check it’s authenticity before selling. My father purchased it from a farmer in the 60’s who had been using it as a doorstop.
Now the rest of the story…Unfortunately, it has been determined that this is not ancient but of historic manufacture. I guess I will now use it as a doorstop.
A classic shaped grooved war club / hammer stone. Nicely pecked shape.
A nicely polished unusual hardstone Adena celt. Pictures show the nice use wear at the bit. It is a very heavy and dense material.
A beautifully polished hardstone square sided Hopewell celt.
This is an excellent example of ancient recycling. This ax had been broken or just worn down at the groove and then re-grooved and re-used. It has a very sharp bit. It shows a lot of use wear also.
A unusual mushroom shape to this pestle. It fits very ergonomically in the hand.
This pestle is highly polished all over. It has a nice shape and a good hand feel. It displays well and should make the top shelf.
This is a very well made and nicely polished axe. It has a couple small usage nicks on the bit but shows wear on them after that.
