This is a very old Pre-Revolutionary War Era scrimshawed powder horn. It has the initials and date “PVD 1724” inscribed on the side as well as a naked woman. It is also decorated with copper stars and a cross. 1724 was the same year that Ben Franklin arrived in London.
Here is what was happening in the colonies in 1724:

Very unusual old copper Indian bust. It is very artistic and would make a great wall hanging in a relic room.
This is a very nice hand carved argillite bowl. It was purchased as part of a collection of Northwest coast artifacts in the 1960’s. It appears to me to have quite a bit of age.
Here is an example of an ancient unfinished project. I am sure it was on his ‘honey-do’ list. Finely pecked into shape but only started drilling the hole. It had a lot of potential. If it could only tell the story as to why it didn’t get finished. This is a great study piece.
